Jacqueline Park, a proud RIVALUS Athlete from Burlington, Ontario, recently defended her position on Canada’s National amateur team at the 48kg light flyweight division with an impressive 16-0 win over Sandra Chamberland of Quebec and a 24-1 victory over Judy Pereira of Manitoba. This is Park's fourth national title and surely not her last.
“Winning Nationals four times has been amazing! It has given me the opportunity to fight at many international tournaments against some of the best boxers in the world.”
This is just a small sample of the extensive boxing career Park has established over the past few years. She explains that she has wanted to be a boxer since childhood however it wasn't until her early 20's that she started boxing competitively. “I’m not sure why exactly but I have wanted to box since I was 8 or 10 years old. Unfortunately there weren’t any girls boxing at that time so I had to wait until I was well into my 20’s. Overall, I think it’s the combination of the physical and mental challenges that I love so much and the rush I get each time I step into the ring.”
As an established yoga teacher and business woman, running a small natural health and yoga store, Park feels that utilizing natural training programs has given her more of an edge than could otherwise be attained.
"Holistic health, yoga and family are also very important to me," Park explains. She adds, "Training as hard as I do and working full time can be very demanding. Natural health products are an integral component to my success and RIVALUS is my not-so-secret weapon. It's comforting to know that I can take a product that I know is safe and that I can recommend to my colleagues."
Dr. Burke welcomes elite athletes such as Park with open arms. "Jacqueline is a great girl with a great attitude. It is my pleasure to support her -- she takes pride in her training and gets amazing results".
Park undoubtedly has a promising boxing career ahead of her and intends to focus on national and international tournaments and the next World Championships in 2010.
