Breakfast of Champions

Are you one of those people who truly enjoy eating breakfast or one of those people who race out the door in the morning with coffee in hand?? In my opinion, breakfast truly is one of the most important meals of the day for various reasons. First of all, your body has been asleep for many hours and it requires nutrition to kickstart your day. Food is fuel!! Secondly, if you make a habit of skipping breakfast you will probably end up snacking on quick food choices that may not be the healthiest.

Well for those that enjoy breakfast or have the time to prepare breakfast and eat at home….the answer is simple. Try to choose a balanced breakfast that incorporates some protein. Egg white omelettes, hard boiled eggs with some oatmeal is one of my faves! Sometimes for a change, I add a scoop of RIVALUS protein powder to my oatmeal….yummy!! Throw a little Walden’s farms syrup and it is heaven!

If time is an issue for you, no fear…you can still manage to eat a healthy breakfast on the go. Grab a protein smoothie or a P28 bagel on your way out the door. These are my two fave options when I am in a rush. P28 bagels have a whopping 28 grams of protein per bagel or grab two slices of P28 bread toasted. Delicious!!

Try one of my fave smoothie ideas:

I am more of a chocolate/peanut butter fan so feel free to change around the smoothie recipe if desired by adding frozen fruits etc:

  • 1 cup of 40 cal almond milk
  • 1 scoop of Rivalus Protein
  • 1/2 cup Nonfat greek yogurt (if it is kept frozen in small dishes it will make the smoothie thicker)
  • 2 tbsp of PB2 (this is a powdered peanut butter but way healthier than peanut butter)

ICE to desired thickness

Blend Away!
