Super Shake for Speedy Recovery
Try this delicious protein shake recipe after your workouts! Post-workout nutrition is very important if you want to maximize your gains and recovery. After an intense workout you want to make sure you take in a quality source of protein to help rebuild/repair you muscle tissue and some carbs to replenish your energy (glycogen) stores in your muscles.
Research has shown that the timing of protein consumption is very important. Specifically, there is a critical window following exercise in order to maximize amino acid absorption and protein synthesis. Immediately after is best, but any time within the one hour period following exercise is essential to maximizing the benefits of both your workout and your protein shake!
