Deciding What Protein To Take and When To Take It

Rivalus has 4 different proteins to choose from; RivalWhey, Promasil, Iso-Clean, and Native Pro 100. Let’s start with whats in each one because that determines when I take them.

RivalWhey is a Whey Protein blend of Isolate, Concentrate, and Hydrolysate. This is a fast acting protein. That means you will digest it fast.

Promasil is 7 different proteins; Whey Isolate, Whey Hydrolysate, Milk Isolate, Whey Concentrate, Goat’s Milk, Egg Albumen, and Micellar Casein blended together. This is a fast and slow acting protein. That means you will digest it fast and slow.

Iso-Clean is 100% Whey Protein Isolate. This is another fast acting protein.

Native Pro 100 is 100% Native Whey Protein Isolate. What makes this different from the others is the process from start to finish of how its made. It has naturally occurring benefits and no fillers in it. This is a fast acting protein.

Now how do you choose which one to use. I’m going to explain which ones I use and why so hopefully this helps you make your decision.

On days that I train I take 1 scoop about 30 minutes before I start my workout. I mix it in my pre-workout; Powder Burn 2.0, Complex5, and Cre-Elite. I mainly use RivalWhey or Promasil but I have used Iso-Clean.

Why do I take 1 scoop of protein before I workout? There are multiple studies that show if you take approximately 20g-30g of a fast acting protein, you train harder and better. A fast acting protein will be any Whey Concentrate, Isolate, or Hydrolyzed Protein so the ones to take are RivalWhey and Iso-Clean.

After my workout I take 2 scoops of RivalWhey or Promasil but again I have used Iso-Clean. They both work for me but when I take Promasil I feel full a little longer. Thats because RivalWhey as I said above is a fast acting protein and Promasil is a fast and slow acting protein so I digest it slower.

At the end of the day if I haven’t hit my protein macro goal I will take RivalWhey or Promasil to hit it.

There are a two things I want to say in general about these proteins. The first is how each one blends. 2 or 3 scoops of either RivalWhey, Promasil, or Iso-Clean with 12 ounces of water blends well and stay the consistency of water. 1-2 scoops of Native Pro 100 with 12 ounces of water blends well but is thick. I prefer my protein to be the consistency of water.

The second is how the flavors taste. I haven’t had all the flavors because I just don’t like the actually foods the flavors are of. I’ve always been told I’m a picky eater. I typically just take Vanillia, Strawberry, and Chocolate. I mix other supplements or food in with my protein so these flavors work best for that. I have tried Chocolate Mint and it was good. I learned the hard way to not mix other supplements with the special flavors.

One thing I’m going to start doing soon is take Native Pro 100 along with the others. It just has more benefits and it has a higher amount of protein per scoop, 30g. The others are 24g.

I hope how I use all these proteins helps you decide what and how to take them. If you have any questions let me know.
