Favorite Foods While On Competition Prep

Hi RIVALUS fam!! Today I want to break down for you what I eat during prep. A lot of my friends think that the diet during prep is hard, strict and limited…but it’s really not!! Sometimes I like to stick to a bland and routine type of prep foods (egg whites, tilapia and sweet potatoes), but only because on busy days shutting around kids I don’t have to think too much about what to pack. But all other times it’s a free for all of yummy foods that are competition prep friendly!

For proteins I eat Tilapia, tuna fish (spicy buffalo flavor), cod, chicken breasts, lean and extra lean turkey, egg whites, turkey bacon, turkey sausages, ground beef, steak and pork.

For carbs I like Jasmine rice, Basmati rice, brown rice, white sweet potatoes, yams, quinoa, rice cakes (YUMMMM), saltine round crackers, red potatoes, low-carb tortillas, low-carb breads, English muffins, bagels, Kodiak pancake mix, oatmeal, cream of rice, protein cereals and popcorn.

I add in some healthy fats like avocados and almonds. I also use the heck out of condiments!! I choose ones that are low in sugars and carbs. My favorites are franks hot sauce and buffalo wing sauce, BBQ sauce, sugar free syrups and sugar free jellies.

I add in a wide variety of veggies to every meal. I LOVE brussels sprouts (weird, I know).

I do like to snack (who doesn’t) so for that I have sugar free jell-o, yogurt, cottage cheese, chocolate rice cakes and crackers with salsa.

Lastly my supplements. Obviously I use Rivalus!! My favorite protein powders are Promasil and ISO Clean chocolate and chocolate peanut butter. Watermelon and orange Powder burn 2.0 and Steam BCAA’s.

I do add 1 scoop of protein powder to my pancake mix, oatmeal and cream of wheat to get my carbs and protein in 1 meal.
